sprinkl pepper on them and cats wont go near
What could I use to put in flower beds to stop cats from digging them up?
Dump ammonia around the outer circumference. They hate the smell, as do other animals.
Reply:a statue of a dog.... or a real dog
Reply:try bloodmeal-sold at most garden sections like at Wal-Mart
Reply:citrus peelings. either orange or lemon have tried it on indoor plants and it works.
Reply:you can plant your bulbs or what ever then put a pieace of chicken wire over them with a light sprinkle of soil over it to conceal, the cats don't like the feel of it and they can't dig but your plants will grow
Reply:moth balls or moth flakes
Reply:You could plant catnip in another area, somewhere that you don't care if they go.
Reply:Maybe snail bait it's what my mom use to do.
Reply:cats hate walking on newspaper and it keeps down weeds....if they continue put mouse traps under the paper...it won't hurt them but it will scare them enough to stay away from the area.... if this doesn't work, ccoyote urine is avaiable and it keep away even deer...but on a real hot day it will keep you away tooo!
Reply:My mother used to use rose cane (the stems of roses with thorns still on them!). The cats won't step in the garden then because they'll get their paws poked. They also won't lay down on the flowers either.
The people that said snail bait and ammonia are crazy. Snail bait is poison (and should be avoided - use diatomacious earth to control snails!)and ammonia will kill your plants and is bad for the soil.
