How do I stop chipmunks from digging in my flower beds?

Are they stealing bulbs? There are wire baskets that you plant in the ground around the bulbs and they are supposed to preven animals from getting them. Otherwise, I say give them another more easily attained and plentiful food source somewhere else on your property.

put up a feeder on the opposite side of your yard. or get a pellet gun, with flat head pellets.
Reply:Two suggestions:1.Plastic explosives with a very touchy contact switch.Littles buggers start digging, trip the switch.BOOM.Plus you have a freshly dug garden.

B.Three words: twelve gauge shotgun. The options here are you can either blow them away(they make great compost) or you can smash them with the butt of the gun(make sure it is unloaded or the little varmits win by default). GAME OVER
Reply:take their shovels away from them
Reply:Okay, you go up, lean over real slow like, get right in it's face, and as loud as you can, say, "clickitythhptclicktichity" That is chipmunk for "Your momma's a hampster!" It is VERY insulting. Should make him run home crying!
Reply:Yell "Allllvvviiiin". When you hear "OK", shoot the little %26amp;*%.
Reply:Try getting skewer sticks, cut the pointy tips not to small and put them just under the soil, it shouldn't hurt them but they will leave until they find away around them, there smart animals.
Reply:I don't know if this would work on chipmunks, but it works on dogs and cats. I placed a piece of chicken wire over the dirt of my flowerbed and allowed the plants to grow up through it. The little darlin's dont like the feel of the wire on their toenails, and I have happy plants.
