I would add more tulips along the house side of the garden. If the yellow tulip isn't there you can move it just be very gentle and make sure to water afterwards. (tulips come every year) I enjoy a nice rose bush they come back every year. You can add some pansies. They are a smaller shorter flower that grows nicely.
Reply:Well, tulips only flower in the spring for a short period of time. Then you have the stems hanging around until they turn brown.

I would plant some hosta on top of the tulips. The hosta leaves will hide the tulip stems after the flowers are gone.

Then I would add some day Lillie's, Stella de Oro bloom all summer. For instant color I would plant some annuals. Geraniums, or petunias or marigolds...the creamy colored ones, are inexpensive and showy.

If you have the ability to add a trellis, add clematis. Jackamania is a good old standard but there are some new varities that flower a number of times each summer.
