When the armadillo who is in my yard during the night goes to sleep during the daytime, where do you think he hides? I have a few trees bunched together in the back of my yard. Do you think he goes back there? hmmm, maybe I should do some investigating tomorrow lol. Does he bury himself in the dirt or something? (in general)
When an armadillo is not digging in my flower beds at night, where is he?
Armadillos usually prefer tight tunnels that they make themselves. They do usually hide under trees after they dig their "lair". If you have a ditch it might even be hiding somewhere near there.
Armadillos use their sharp claws to DIG that is the best thing they are good at they were made for digging.
Armadillos usually make little tunnels in places where they won't be seen .
Well if you find him don't hurt him just relocate it.
I've only seen a few armadillos over my lifetime and they weren't here where I live. Armadillos are pretty harmless so I wouldn't worry about it as much .They are technically pretty slow so once you find it I'm sure you'll catch it unless it escapes through another tunnel.
Actually I wouldn't mind having an armadillo in my backyard. I can assure that my two dogs do alot more tunneling and digging lol.
Hope this helped
Reply:They often dig holes or burrows to rest in during the daytime.
Reply:He is in a hole or tunneled under some building, rubbish or brush pile. There should be a mound of fresh dirt around the lip of the hole. And no you will not catch him but if you chase him he may lead you to one of his holes. If you do catch him grab his tail and hold on because he is going to kick and squirm and thresh around. He will jump up and kick at you. Run under a thick bush and start diggin in, grunting, or butt his head up against an object and grunt and kick out with his back claws. Look at his tail. Is the end gone. Leprosy! Wear gloves when handing for pretection from feet, clawed but dull claws for digging. Sneak uo on him form behind. When you get close he may raise uip on hind legs to try to find what it is he smells or senses near. Becareful because if startled he may run into you. He cannot see worth a hoot.
